Uploadable first tries a lightweight rewrite. If that is not enough, lossy compression can flatten selectable text, links, annotations, bookmarks, and accessibility structure, so it requires explicit confirmation.
Protected PDFs
Password-protected PDFs are not processed. PDFs with detected forms or signatures are not rasterized because modification may break their function or validity.

Will the PDF stay searchable?
A lightweight rewrite can preserve document structure. The optional lossy path rasterizes pages and may remove text selection, links, annotations, bookmarks, forms, signatures, and accessibility tags.
