How the 100KB limit is checked

This exact-size tool uses a 98,304-byte safety target (96KiB), leaving room below both common definitions of 100KB and below the next 4KB filesystem allocation boundary. It searches JPEG quality within a bounded range and checks the final Blob byte count.

Quality and dimension trade-offs

Detailed images may not fit below 100KB at an acceptable quality without reducing dimensions. Uploadable reports the trade-off and will not claim success when another confirmed dimension rule would be broken.

Frequently asked questions

Is 100KB the same as 100,000 bytes?

Not always. Some systems use 102,400 bytes, while others use 100,000 bytes. This dedicated tool targets 98,304 bytes as a safety margin and shows the exact final byte count.

Will a transparent PNG stay transparent?

JPEG does not support transparency. Uploadable must ask you to confirm a background color before converting a transparent image to JPEG.
